2024 Summer Programs

Eastpointe Community Schools is pleased to be able to partner with the United Way and the Ballmer Group to offer Summer Discovery this year! This comprehensive and free summer school program focuses on literacy, math, and enrichment activities for students completing grades K-8.

In addition, we will also offer KinderConnect for incoming kindergartners, credit recovery for high school students, and a variety of programs for our students who receive special education support.

K-9 Summer Programs

The Summer Discovery and KinderConnect programs will run from July 8 to August 8, offering full-day programming five days a week for eight hours per day at Eastpointe Middle School. Transportation will be provided to eligible families, along with breakfast and lunch, at no charge.

Registration for these programs is currently open and will continue through May 15. Priority enrollment will be given to currently enrolled students of Eastpointe Community Schools, with enrollment opening to families residing within the district on May 6. Register online today!

Summer Discovery

For students entering grades 1-9, we are excited to offer Summer Discovery this year! Classrooms will be divided by grade level. Mornings will focus deeply on math and literacy, while afternoon programming will provide fun and engaging enrichment activities.

Students who demonstrate consistent attendance will have the opportunity to participate in exciting field trips, including an end-of-program excursion to Cedar Point!

KinderConnect

For students entering kindergarten in the fall, we are again partnering with the MISD to offer KinderConnect as part of our summer programming. KinderConnect is taught by experienced preschool and kindergarten educators with an eye towards preparing students to excel in kindergarten from day one!

Students will be engaged in daily literacy experiences through interactive and meaningful activities with other students preparing to enter kindergarten. Early literacy gives children the foundation they need in order to learn, grow, and become self-confident learners.

Special Education Programs

ECS is excited to again offer summer programs for students with an IEP who are entering grades 1 though 6.

Enrollment forms will be sent home with your child. Please call 586-533-3738 with any questions.

E3 - Enrich, Explore, Engage and L.E.A.P. - Learn, Enrich, Achieve, Play:  These special education summer camps will include literacy, mathematics, social-emotional learning, and engaging projects to help continue learning and engagement through the summer break.
