Labor Day Waiver Request Hearing
Eastpointe Community Schools will hold a public hearing on Monday, April 7, 2025, at the Eastpointe Community Schools Administrative Center, 24685 Kelly Road, Eastpointe, MI 48021 at 5:00 p.m.
The hearing will be held to receive public comments on the request for waiver from requirements of MCL 380.1284bSchool in session before Labor Day; prohibition; effect of collective bargaining agreement; year-round school or
program; waiver; exception; "Labor Day" defined.

Eastpointe Community Schools was notified on Friday, December 5, 2025, by the Michigan State Police and the Department of Homeland Security that a Pleasantview teacher had been arrested out of state on December 3, 2025, and charged with possession and transportation of child exploitation materials. Prior to this formal notification, the District had no knowledge of, nor had it received any allegations related to, this individual.
