New Attendance Zones for 2025-26

As you may know, Eastpointe Community Schools will be transitioning back to K-5 elementary school buildings starting in the 2025-26 school year. We are excited about this change and hope it will help strengthen the communities around our four elementary schools!

Next week, we will mail personalized letters with more specific details about your family’s address and enrollment situation. In the meantime, we wanted to share the new district attendance zone map and provide links to additional information.

Attached is the district map, which shows the updated boundary lines for all four elementary schools. Families between 8 Mile and 9 Mile WEST of Gratiot will be zoned to attend Crescentwood. Families between 8 Mile and 9 Mile EAST of Gratiot will be zoned to attend Pleasantview.

You'll notice some shifts to the current attendance boundaries on the north side of the district near Gratiot Avenue. Specifically, a portion of the area currently attending Forest Park and/or Pleasantview will shift to Bellview, including:

  • Between 9 Mile and Stephens, from Gratiot Avenue to both sides of Piper

  • Between Stephens and 10 Mile, from Gratiot Avenue to both sides of Lambrecht

Students living in this area will be provided with bus transportation to and from Bellview. This shift will help prevent overcrowding and ensure more equitable resources and smaller class sizes for all ECS students. All families living EAST of these boundaries will be zoned to attend Forest Park.

We will also offer families the opportunity to request in-district transfers or submit preferences for their school placement if they are currently enrolled via schools of choice. Additional information will be included in the letters you’ll receive next week.

We believe that moving to K-5 schools will simplify things for families, as all of a family’s elementary-aged children can now attend the same school. Many students who previously needed to be bused or driven will now be within walking distance, which should help reduce traffic around drop-off and pick-up times, and we are already in discussions with the city of Eastpointe to add more crossing guards for next year.

We will continue to keep in touch with your family regarding this upcoming transition. If you have any questions, please reach out to your school principal or visit our website at eastpointeschools.org/k-5-transition for more information.
